Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Mediation
True friendship isn’t measured in good times alone — “at all times” means it holds even when things get hard, awkward, or costly.
Love that only shows up when it’s convenient isn’t the love this verse describes.
The second half sharpens the point: some relationships exist precisely for adversity — that’s their purpose, not a burden on them.
Ask yourself: am I a friend who loves consistently, or only when it’s easy?
Today, be the kind of friend — or brother — this verse describes: present, loyal, and steady, especially when it costs you something.
Declaration
I declare that I am a friend who loves at all times — in good seasons and hard ones alike.
I declare that my loyalty will not waver when things get difficult or costly.
I declare that I was born for such a time as this — to stand with those I love in their adversity.
I declare that true friendship flows through me, faithful and unshaken by circumstance.
I declare that I will be the friend and brother this verse describes, today and always.in Jesus Name
