Skilled and Favoured

Ezra 7:6
this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had given. The king granted him all he asked, because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him.

Meditation

Ezra did not simply show up and hope for favour. He prepared himself by becoming skilled in the Word of God, and then the hand of the Lord rested on him. The king gave him everything he asked, and the text is clear that it was because God’s hand was upon him. Favour and diligence go together. When we give ourselves to God’s Word and to doing our work well, God opens doors that no effort of our own could open. Today, be faithful in the place of preparation, and trust the hand of the Lord to go before you.

Declaration

Father, thank You for Your Word, which is my light and my guide. I declare that I will be diligent in studying it and faithful in whatever You have given me to do. Let Your hand be upon me today, as it was upon Ezra. Grant me favour in every place I go, and let every door You have opened for me stay open. Make me skilled in my work and wise in my walk, so that You alone receive the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a blessed day and thank you for sharing
